Adapting Your Physical Environment to be Trauma-Informed

Learning: A crucial component to becoming trauma-informed is ensuring your physical environment is sensitive to those who have experienced adversity. Christina and Monica will each explore how their respective districts have successfully adapted their physical environments to portray safety and their success with implementing calming spaces.
The take-away: Learn how to assess your current environment for hidden trauma triggers and how to effectively portray physical safety. You will also walk away with tools and methods to properly implement a calming space within your environment- for students and/or staff.
